OUR GLASS KITCHEN SPLASHBACKS ARE AVAILABLE IN A VAST RANGE OF COLOURS AND ARE IMPACT AND HEAT RESISTANT UP TO 400°C.   

Our kitchen splashbacks offer architects, builders, designers and home owners a glass product that is extremely flexible to work with. Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and splashbacks, back painted glass is normally applied to Low Iron glass between 6-19 mm thickness and toughened to BS6206 class A.

BACK PAINTED SPLASHBACKS

Glass Designs Back Painted Glass gives architects, builders, designers and homeowners a glass product that is extremely flexible to work with which is ideal for kitchens and bathrooms. Back painted glass is applied to Low Iron glass between 6-19 mm thickness and toughened to BS6206 class A.

TOUGHENED MIRROR SPLASHBACKS

Toughened Mirrored splashbacks are made using a two way process. Firstly the glass is toughened in a normal way and then secondly silvered to create a mirrored finish on the glass. Silvering or mirroring is accomplished by chemically depositing Silver Nitrate then copper and finally a layer of paint protection on to the glass surface creating a high quality reflective surface. We have our own silvering plant which enables us to silver batch runs up to a max size of 3100 x 1500mm in 6mm Opti.

COLOURED SPLASHBACKS ARE MANUFACTURED BY SPRAYING ONTO THE BACK OF THE TOUGHENED GLASS TO GIVE A PERFECT FINISH. YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM A WIDE RANGE OF POPULAR COLOURS, INCLUDING COLOURS FROM RAL, DULUX AND FARROW & BALL.

Glass Splashbacks FAQS

How do I get a quote for a Glass Splashback?

It could not be easier. You can issue drawings or a basic sketch with dimensions and if possible an image or two to help provide you with a budget quote. If our quote is within budget, we can then arrange for a full survey to take place at a time that suits both the client and GD.

What are the colour options for Glass Splashbacks?

We offer a vast array of colours from either our RAL, Dulux or Farrow & Ball range to suit any pallet.

What are the fixing methods for Glass Splashbacks?

We apply a recognized and approved low modular silicone adhesive, which should be applied in thin strips or beads. Do not apply large individual blobs.

Is the glass safe for use in the kitchen?

Yes, as the glass will go through the toughening process, which is heated in a furnace then cooled rapidly so as to comply with British Safety Standards.

How do we know the glass has been toughened?

Each piece of glass will be edge stamped with a BSEN 12150 mark.

What is the thickness of the glass?

Glass splashbacks are 6mm.

Do you offer metallic colours?

Yes.

Is the glass easily cleaned?

Glass can be easily cleaned due to the non porous surface by either soapy water or glass cleaner.

What is the maximum length for a Glass Splashback?

The maximum length we can supply is 3100mm. (please be mindful of the logistics of maneuvering
such a large piece of glass within the property)

Can you have mirror splashbacks?

As we have a silvering plant, this allows us to be able to toughen mirrors for splashbacks. Finishes available are Silver, Bronze & Grey.
