Back Painting
Glass Designs offers back painted glass in virtually limitless spectrums of colour, and can match any colours found in the RAL, Dulux even Farrow & Ball range. You can spice up any colour by adding metallic finishes to bring the wow factor in any environment.
Toughening
Toughened Glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. Because of its increased strength, Toughened Glass allows architects and builders far greater scope in their use of glass in buildings. It meets worldwide safety standards for glass subjected to accidental human impact at the highest level of severity. Wherever the benefits of ordinary glass need to be combined with extra strength, safety or heat resistance, Toughened Glass can offer a complete and proven solution.
Polishing
For that perfect finish, glass can be given a highly polished edge finish, known as a flat polish. An angled finish, known as a mitred edge, is also available to a minimum of 45 degrees.
Bevelling
Bevelling provides glass with a chamfered edge for added decoration. A classic yet contemporary finish to give that special touch and emphasised edge detail.
Laminating
Mesh, fabric, coloured inter layers are just some of the more decorative materials Glass Designs has laminated for hotels, private residencies and yachts. Along with staircases, balustrades, stair treads and floors which are the more traditional areas for all your laminating needs.
Water Jet Cutting
A water jet cutter is also known as a water jet. This is an industrial tool capable of cutting a wide variety of materials including glass, using a very high-pressure jet of water, or a mixture of water and an abrasive substance.
Sand Blasting
Frosted glass is created through a process of sandblasting a clear sheet of glass. This method allows the glass to appear translucent as it diverts light particles and blurs the images simultaneously. Frosted glass is mainly used to obtain visual privacy while still allowing light to penetrate the sheet.
CNC Cutting
CNC processed glass offers almost unlimited design possibilities in glass, ideal for unusual shapes and kitchen worktops. CNC processing allows us to produce virtually any shape, (from computer design, technical drawing or template) polish internal edges and give stunning edge effects.
Brilliant Cutting
Brilliant cut designs are the perfect way to decorate anything containing glass, from mirror wardrobes to doors and partitions. Brilliant cut designs are produced by grinding a v shaped groove into the face of the glass which is then polished to a brilliant finish.
Silvering/Antiquing
Our in house silvering process allows glass designs to toughen mirrors. This unique service makes Glass Designs the obvious choice for large residential developments where mirror glass splashbacks have been specified.
U.V. Bonding
U.V. Bonding gives a virtual invisible joint, it allows glass to be bonded to glass or metal. Ultra violet light is used when curing the adhesive as this technique creates a joint as strong as the glass itself which eliminates the need for mechanical fixings.
Digital Printing
The perfect way for architects and designers to display creative images onto facades, windows and design features. A permanent product created by applying ceramic inks on the glass surface and then firing in a furnace to encapsulate for the life of the glass. The ceramic inks are applied up to 750 dpi resolution obtaining clear and defined images. When fired at approximately 650 °c the product is virtually none destructible and therefore suitable for almost any application.
